Worlds Deadliest Warriors vs Zombies
I have been watching SpikeTV’s Worlds Deadliest warriors and it has inspired me to compare warriors against the greatest threat mankind will ever see… zombies. So I have selected 5 of the worlds deadliest warriors and will pit them against zombies to see which will survive… and which deadliest warrior would quickly fall victim to the zombie horde. The following warriors are not ranked in any order but not everyone of them would survive the undead hordes as we will soon see;
Ninjas: First off I am quite partial to Ninjas. I have a black belt in Ninjitsu and for those of you who don’t study the arts that is the martial art that Ninjas study. So clearly since I am the zombies natural predator that should make Ninjas natural predators as well. Right off the bat Ninjas are lethal to zombies because they employ a variety of ranged and close weaponry. Ninja Stars are fantastic for inflicting head trauma at a distance and their Katana ( sword) Is fantastic for up close violence. Add to the fact that Ninjas are small, stealthy and can hide in shadows seriously I can disappear with a poof of smoke. Their ability to do damage at long and close range combined with swiftness and agility the verdict is that Ninjas vs Zombies = Ninjas win!
The Black Widow: The Black Widow is my favourite killer but how well would a vicious woman stand up against zombies? If it was Kathy Bates who scared men stupid in MISERY I think the Black Widow would be a fare match for zombies but unfortunately most Black Widow killers rely on their looks to snag their prey and indirect killing methods like poison to dispatch their victims. Interesting fact one of the first Black Widow killers was Lyda Katherine Ambrose who killed 5 men for their insurance money by poisoning them in 1917. When you consider the fact that zombies have no sexual appetite and poison doesn’t work on them the result is Black Widow vs Zombies = Zombies win!
Vikings: Vikings are big powerful brutes that made monkeys out of opponents all across the world. Chris Columbus was credited as being the first person to come to the new world but Vikings actually beat him to it landing in Nova Scotia Canada far before Chris Columbus ever came around. A destroyed Viking settlement was discovered which leads to speculation that a small group of Vikings took on the local native population and then vanished back to the seas. Vikings are warriors and they were large brutes with incredibly violent tools of the blood trade. Large hammers, heavy leather armor and axes are the favourite weapons of a Viking and all of these things make for great weapons against zombies. Leather armor is light but also can stop a zombie bite. Both an axe and a hammer make for great weapons to destroy zombies without need for reloading. Add to the fact that Vikings are large brutes they can easily handle zombies in one on one combat. Viking pile driver anyone? The catch to all this is that because Vikings are large and muscular and carry heavy weaponry they are also slow making them ok against single zombies but in large hordes it would be very problematic. They also lack any really efficient long range weapons which makes them really only effective in close combat. For this reason Vikings vs Zombies = A draw.
American Gangster: The American gangster of the Capone era was known for their loyalty, violence and use of a Tommy gun. American Gangsters are not known all the much for their tenacity or strength but because of the Tommy gun they were extremely feared. Unfortunately since just about anyone could become a gangster and pack a Tommy gun with little skill it means that the American Gangster only has one very limited tool against zombies. A Tommy gun packs a large punch but it has one extremely severe flaw… it fires quickly and runs out of rounds even quicker leaving you with a Tommy Gun that is only suitable now as a club and not a very good one at that. So American Gangster vs Zombies = Zombies win!
Spartan: Spartans were raised from a baby to be killing machines. Well versed in hand to hand combat and trained to protect the man beside them. They typically were severely outnumbered and loyal right down to their own death. Spartans are lethal killers that stand shoulder to shoulder with their brothers and are willing to fight to the death to protect what is theirs without hesitation. Their weapons are typically shields, short swords and long spears as well as bows / arrows. This mix of weaponry makes a Spartan dangerous at the three key ranges of combat. From a distance a Spartan can pick the zombies off with their bows, in mid range they can harpoon them with their spears and in close range they can use their shields to protect themselves and the short sword to kill them. In the end Spartans vs Zombies = Spartans win.
