Zombies May Invade Toronto
Nothing screams “Shoot for the head!!!” louder then a festival dedicated to the shambling corpses of the undead. The Zombie Short Film Festival or the ZSFF will most likely be taking place at the Revue Cinema in Toronto. I say ‘Most Likely’ because according to their blog, they aren’t one hundred percent sure if it’ll be going ahead.
The Festival, being the brain-child of Jim Taylor and Cory Laffin, has a target date of October 30th, 2009. Just in time for Halloween. If all goes according to plan, they will host the main event at the Revue Cinema where select submissions chosen by four judges will be screened. The attending will then cast their vote for the winning film.
The winner will be announced at the Gala following the screening.
While the main prize is yet to be announced, the film most enjoyed by the audience will receive the Zomb-D’Or, described as the Oscar of Zombie Short Films.
If you are reading this and you consider yourself a filmmaker, you may want to consider a submission.
Details are as follows:
- Entry Fee: Twenty Dollars ($20) Canadian
- Must be burned to DVD (NTSC) at the highest quality available
- Submissions are currently open World-Wide, not just to Canadian residents
- It must be a short film with a maximum running time of 20 minutes.
- It must involve zombies.
